Friday night on the Colorado River (La Grange)

Me, my son, and one of his buddies paddled upstream from TPWD boat launch in La Grange for an island campout. Launched around 6pm Friday and arrived at our island around 8pm. Decided there was no time to fish on the way up. Enjoyed a good campfire and lots of stars before the clouds rolled. Backpacker Pantry Chili Mac with colby jack cheese and tortilllas for dinner. Mt House eggs with bacon and Mt House breakfast skillet with colby jack cheese on tortillas for breakfast. Headed back downstream around 11 and fished eddy pools along the way. Each of us only caught one fish, but that was OK for me and my son. We were off the river and strapping down boats under the shelter of HWY 71 bridge as the Saturday afternoon showers began. Looking forward to our next trip.
