Camping 2/26-28?

Post by jukebox »

Hey folks, I'm looking to do some fishing and camping next weekend. I wanted to go to Colorado Bend but all the drive up sights are booked. My goal is to fish for whites and camp for 2 nights somewhere local to Austin (within 2hrs). I'm thinking Russell's Park on Lake Georgetown or possibly somewhere on the north end of Lake Travis. Thoughts? Also open to having others join as all my fishing buddies are busy that weekend.

I do not know if it is within your 2 hour limit but Choke Canyon should be ready to bust loose by now.

Thanks for the suggestion but that is a bit further than I care to go for this trip. Also, I don't really care much for yakking with the gators!

Gators and I have not gotten along for over fifty years, so I am with you on that issue.

I've settled on staying at Willis Creek on Lake Grainger. If anyone else is interested feel free to join. I should be able to catch whites and crappie in abundance, but then I think that every year and it never happens.

There were some guys out there last weekend they caught about 60. They were in boats not kayaks.
