San Antonio River camping

Does anyone have experience paddling and camping on the San Antonio River? I'm talking way south of town, maybe around Runge or Goliad. Any advice welcome, thanks.

Most of that river land is private. TPW has a paddling trail that finishes at Goliad SP where good camping is available.

Is it steep banked or gradual where I can camp on sand bars etc below the cut bank?

The little bit of that river I have seen is very steep banked. I have no idea about camping on sand bars. Even though the water is public, the sand bars may be private land. Texas river rights are a mess when it comes to the dirt next to, in or under the public water.
