camping trip

Hello, new to forum guys. My wife and I are planning a camping kayaking trip down the Guadalupe river soon. I am looking at starting at FM 447 and getting out at SH 59 paddling access. My question is looking at the satalite pics shows several good islands to stay on but does anyone have any personal insite to this part of the river? Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help but i don't know anything about that part of river

My information is second hand but some fellows I have camped with in the past the know the river say islands and sand bars suitable for camping are near non- existent. I think the commercial campgrounds are about your only option.
