Brazos River from Rosharon to Freeport (VIDEO)
Brazos River from Rosharon to Freeport (VIDEO)
Myself and a couple of friends did a pretty awesome trip down the lower Brazos River from Rosharon to Freeport over the Easter weekend. In around 48 hours we knocked out the 50+ mile stretch of river. Since we had to paddle so much, we didn't get much time to fish. It was an awesome trip, and we saw plenty of wildlife. I'd like to re paddle parts of the river soon and spend focus more on fishing, we passed plenty of spots that looked like potentially good fishing holes.
Here's the video from the trip:

Your videos are great therapy for those of us who are stuck working in cubicles everyday. I'm seriously considering a change up from bass to catfishing.

Thanks guys!
Glad you liked the video! As far as paddling, my arms where fine, my abs felt it more than anything else. During the summer months I regularly paddle more than 50 miles a week and that's how I always paddle. Not saying my technique is the best but it works for me.Javelina Russ wrote:Man I loved the trip video but learn some paddling techniques! I bet yalls arms were ready too kill ya!;)

That was fun..lil to much for me to keep up..but I did enjoy the video and i really like the primitive cooking of the fish..I have never seen anyone cook on our trips catch of the day..

Cool trip and great video. Now you know what it takes to paddle 30,40 or even 50+ miles/day. You have to stay in the saddle with minimal breaks. But you are so tired at the end of the day that it actually feels good with no problem getting to sleep and morning comes fast.
Now you are getting ready for that long trip I bet from Waco to the gulf?
Yea, I guess as you get to the gulf you have to paddle with the tide unless you really like paddling uphill.
Thanks for the report.

Thanks guys!
Brenham to the Gulf! Waco to the gulf is 400+ miles, I'm not that ambitious….yet. But your right the trip gave me a good feel to see what paddling 30-40 miles a day consist of.

I'm sure! Not trying to bust your technique, if it works it works but I'd check out some, makes that 50 a week a breeze and 100 a snapforager wrote:Thanks guys!
