The great news was the group. 2 years ago we started with 12 people. last year it grew to 17. This year the River Dawgs totaled 24.

No one there in all the years they have been doing it had seen even a fraction of that much vegetation.

Zman, I think you double counted. I just checked again. Three of us came up with 24 when on site. :)

I read an article In the early 80's when Austin was growing faster than they could keep up . Sewer water was being dumped into the Colorado that was not completely treated. Large mats of grass/algae were growing in the river with tomato plants growing in them. They said the seeds don't digest in our system and without proper treatment survived to grow in the mats..I also remember when I was a kid in the 50's we lived very close to the Trinity River my parents told us never to get in the river when we were out playing by it. you could smell raw sewage plus see toilet paper stuck on the banks...and then it went tru Dallas  who knows what gets dumped in our Rivers even today..

for the third time in a row the weather/water has thrown a curveball and reduced the fishing conditions to almost 0%..... I guess next time if there is any rain within a week of the trip it will be a no-go.... camping was fun and we lost a few lbs though!

We’ve all had times, when the going gets tough
The smooth ride suddenly, feels bumpy and rough
The good times are gone, it’s all rather gruff
You let out a sigh and exclaim – “I’ve had enough”

We are all entitled at times, to gripe and to moan
What’s happened to my life, you say with a groan?
My backpack seems weighed down, by a very big stone
How do I move away, from this miserable zone?

When a curved ball hits you, through a trick or a con
Remember the good days, when the sun always shone
Go forward with the belief, that you already have won
The best advice I can give, is to keep on - keeping on

It was a struggle at first, but, considering how rare this event is... I feel blessed for the opportunity to have expierenced this unusual event first hand. A very different and beautiful face of a unique and lovely lady. Thanks Colorado River, and God bless Texas.

Respectfully,

Ms }<)));>

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

I wish I could have made it, but as sick and miserable as I was at home, I would not have been very pleasant company :).

I take it you didn't get any rain on the trip since I didn't make it down there?

There's a rumor going around we should get some rain and cooler weather here by Friday, man all of Texas needs it so bad! Wish we could have intercepted some of what fell on poor Colorado last week.

That was definitely different, still enjoyed it though. Good to see everybody and meet a few new folks.
I have some good photos, but here at work they've blocked photo sharing sites and no net at the house. I'll put up a few some how latter.

Thanks for getting it togather Paul.
