And milret, I see that you are retired Air Force. I served 6 years myself in the Air Force. Any good TDY stories?
Bunch of good stories but I cannot tell them in front of Firefly. She blushes easily.

Anyone have exact latitude/longitude of where we are meeting? I take it we are putting in about where we took out on our January freeze trip in 2012?

Milret I'm not finding Hobo Camp or FM 1209 near there on Google Maps, probably operator error, but got any hints?

I'd better get my directions lined up now, since I'll be away from a computer next week prior to heading down.

I DO NOT blush easily..........at this age I've just about heard it all

Yes, Rod........I'm coming. It'll be good to see you again. I'll try to remember to bring a sharp knife (and help with the whittling, heh-heh). Also packing earplugs so no one has to worry about talking in their sleep or snoring. Been there, done that....NOW I come prepared.

John.....where is Hobo Camp? That's not the Colorado River camp we stayed last year across from the put-in, is it????

Glad to see some young one's joining in and livening things up a bit!!! It'll be good for Ethan so he doesn't feel so trapped by a bunch of old fuddie-duddies. Plus, newbie Wayne.....you get to pull off your role-model act and sneakily steer him in the direction of the Air Force and tout all it's attributes!!!!! :P Anything but where he's thinking, ). You, too, John....I'm being serious! He starts ROTC this Fall.

Lynne do not worry about where Hobo Camp is. Just follow my dust to the garden of eden. ROTC, nutts. I am a retired SMSGT. Dang, I am not cut out for the role model bit. Look what Larry did to me, or did I do it to him. Does not matter, we are both screwed up.

As of right now the water is still running good. Should be running well and the rapids below the island a bit more challenging. :D

Looks like they are rating that tornado in Granbury as an EF4, pretty powerful.

Hopefully we don't get *that* kind of weather on our trip! Then again, since I'm going, it's very likely it *will* rain   .

I recall a trip we were planning about 3 years ago on the Brazos, Ron went by the falls and found the water up about 30 feet too high for us to go :D  .

Only a short time left all you happy campers. Everyone find what they need for this adventure. Hmm, wonder if Larry has found his Kayak.

Just got back from getting my food for this trip. As previously mentioned I was going to auction off the left overs. But, being the pig I can be I have decided to auction the right to lick my plate before I dispose of it. I intend to eat very well on this trip. To watch me cook it will cost a Buck.

Too bad, Ron, I would have enjoyed seeing you again.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to see you on the Brazos again someday, hope your health is good!

Here is the deal. I am bringing a self standing grill grate plus charcoal. Everyone can use it. Just cook your own mess.

I am thinking I may take the tarp and skip the tent. My wife and I ran from Little Webberville to Big Webberville yesterday and the water was flowing pretty nice. Just a gentle drift in the long pools plus enough current in the narrows and shallows to hurry us along. :D

Rodney has a point. Where he goes Rain will flow. Hmm, tent may come in handy. Besides your Hooligan is the same as sleeping outside with the Fly off.

Let me get a head count. Right now I have DNR, MILRET, Firefly, Her grandson, RODLOOS, Larry, camobassprowler, WayneWilson, Yaktipper and myself.

Let me have a headcount by Wednesday please. Anyone dropping out or getting in along with wishes on whether to hire a shuttle or do it ourselves. Those who have been there know it is an easy one to do on our own. Cost of a service would depend on how many we have.

I am in. Do the hire shuttle, just makes it easier. Cost is decent.
