Re: Kayak Camping Saw
looks like a nice saw! i carry a gerber sportsman wood saw. it's a little short for big wood processing, but it gets the job done.
product website... http://www.gerbergear.com/index.php/product/id/191
i found it at dicks sporting goods for about $12
:edit: i also normally carry a small can of wd-40 with my stuff. ($1 cans at the dollar store) it comes in handy when you find a down log that's not completely dry.

I got mine from wally world for about 7 bucks on sale. It works pretty good for a very limited experience camper.
Re: Kayak Camping Saw
Best one I found was at Sears, the darn thing will saw throught any thing
Re: Kayak Camping Saw
I picked this up the other day. It cuts extremely well. I cut a 6" diameter piece of Bodark like it was butter. I don't think there is a harder wood around than Bodark.

I got mine at "The Outhouse" archery shop. Sports Authority in Waco has it. Made by Outdooredge.com. Comes with three blades which store in the case. Wood blade, bone, and hacksaw. It cost $22

Darrel,
Thanks for the reply. I could use one of those to clear and make shooting lanes when I go bowhunting.

That is a serious looking blade there, On the Guad.
Might come in handy on the trip.
And if somebody gets their leg trapped in some rocks, I bet it'll cut that thing right off too.

I bought a Gerber Gator Saw I and love it. I think I spent $25 on it. It does not pack down as small as Darrell's but it is an aggresive well made saw. I cut a 4" branch off on the Navasota like it was nothing.
If that is not big enough to do the trick there is always this guy's approach (where do these nuts come from? )

For a minute there I thought you had a chainsaw on the front of your yak. Then looked again and realized that it was your anchor.

FYI, that is not me with the chainsaw. It is Randy, our kayak safety officer!

That saw looks wicked sharp! I'm sure it works great but I insist on going light to keep my overnight adventures simple and easy to execute. I like the BCB Commando Wire Saw.
