Open cockpit, like Strider???

im building a laker 13, and i really want a open cockpit like Strider's boats......can i do it with the laker 13, i know i would have to put a bigger combing on the inside, anything i shopuld be aware of.

i posted a pic of what i want it to look like.

In the bulkheads im going to put hatches so i can still store stuff in them.

Ron will probably chime in shortly, but yes you can. He built his like the plans call for and then went back and opened it up some.

I opened my laker up to about a 50 inch cockpit,I like to use the front bulkhead for a foot peg also.

As long as you have blades for your saw you can keep changing it till you get it like you want it.

might also look at the tv pirogues. I built the 15-32 and it's a great boat. Ron built the 15-29 and says it's a great boat too
