Okay, I ended up with this thing a few years back and have been neglecting the heck out of it. The sides , seat, and assorted other parts are cypress as I remember, the bottom was plywood. Sides seem to be solid, possibly a little filler, sanding, and a new coat of fiberglass. The plywood portions have unfortunately expired.... Whaddya think, a restoration project or a new rustic home for some hibiscus or something???

My vote too, the interior is too nicely done and rustically beautiful to bury. Seriously, I'd have to say it qualifies as folk art. I'm sure some catfish house or seafood restaurant would love to hang it as decor, but how to connect with interested parties? I often wish I knew, so I could retire a couple old boats where they might still be enjoyed.

I would redo it, but that is me. Much to my wife's annoyance, I will drag just about anything home I can turn into a project. they usually turn into WAY more work than they are worth, but I enjoy a good before and after picture.

sounds a lot like me on trash nights but some of the stuff i have got has been great, like a ice chest with broken hinges and my buddy got a boat trailer i help drag on to his house.

To me it's wall art...and I agree with the gentleman who commented on the amount of daylight, etc. But Joe's Shack ain't cool enough for this...a nice common bar on the banks of a fine fishin' river w/ an excellent kayak launch, and an endless supply of live happy shad, an unending supply of cold beverages and a source of excellent 'que, with a riverside deck, would be more to my thinking! Oh, Wait! That's my retirement program!

I gotta add that...that is a sweet lookin' little craft...and bein' one piece cypress slab on both sides, it does give one pause...I wonder if they're tearin' down another house in Goldthwaite........naw, we ain't goin' there, and it's way too hot! I'll let them young flatbellies like Ron and Darrell do this one!

I've been hoping I could at least get a few votes for restoral: Just another project I don't need. The cypress, as barditch said, is what is luring me here: I'm thinking pull the floorboards off, as well as the "joists", and put something down the line of a diagonal-ripped 2x2 along the bottom of the cypress: then replace the floor structure tied to that, and replace the bottom with whatever comes in handy or you guys talk me into: do whatever I gotta do to the transom, do a sand-and fiberglass job on the whole thing. The way I see it, keeping the cypress "formed" while I do the bottom swap would be the hardest part: I was thinking fab some MDF forms for the interior before I cut all of that stuff loose, staple it like you would strips, then strip it and replace the floor. There's some cracks, etc. in the cypress, but nothing that really changes anything dimensionally: some putty ought to fill it nicely...

I can see the case for restoring it too... It would have to be a labor of love...

How hard would it be to make a set of plans? I don't know much about how thats done...

Its a really cool boat anyhow.
