Did you check Fine Hardwoods in Austin? Last time I bought some it was $54 a sheet. I just drove down and got it. That has been a couple of years. This marine plywood price stuff is getting out of hand. Delivered to your door may be worth it though considering the time involved.
I don't know who it was but somebody once said that, "....money takes the sting out of being poor." I think it was Pearl Bailey..

Re: FINALLY GOT A WOOD SUPPLY
Yeah, tried them and a bunch more. Best Texas price was Houston at $77.00 sheet. This company is $51 - $52 plus shipping, no taxes. I may flirt with quantities later and see what happens. But, I'm game on this price. I just want to get my SOT going.gerald wrote:Did you check Fine Hardwoods in Austin? Last time I bought some it was $54 a sheet. I just drove down and got it. Re: FINALLY GOT A WOOD SUPPLY
That's great you found a supplier.
Since you can't physically examine the plywood before purchase, I assume they guarantee that it doesn't have any defects etc? I guess that is part of meeting the BS1088 standard?
Too bad we don't have a store here in DFW for it, but I guess there isn't much demand for marine grade stuff this far from the coast.

No, not yet. I just finished my workshop and have a project going for my baby bubba. Should be able to get my wood in about 3 weeks and get going.PlanoDano wrote:Did you try this supplier? If so, how did it work out?
