I finished it and took it out for a spin this evening. It's a keeper. Just need to add a few things like some mesh in the back storage to keep stuff in reach and off the bottom, some fittings to attach stuff, and most importantly a padded back rest.
It scootes along very fast and tracks well. I fly fished our lake and made two 90 degree turns and never paddled, Just working the foam wiggle bug was enough to pull me along. There was absolutely no air moving. Now I can take a bud kayak fishing.
Next will be a wood boat, probably a stitch & glue.

Very similar to the kayaks that my father and I built in the early 60s and from which I landed a 4 lb Steelhead in the American river by Nimbus Dam.

I weighed me then me and she. Just over 40 lbs. Would be much less if not for all the pretty oak. Other lighter woods just seemed to weak. All I need is by big bu@@ pushing a splintered piece of wood throught the bottom.
Still have not added fittings or mesh basket in the back storage area.
I had planned to mount Scotty rod holders on the oak deck behind the seat, but they would be a little close. I'll just use tubes in the storage area or in a crate. Hate to drill holes in the pretty oak.
