Do anyone use their forward flushmounts?

Post by Mitchw123456 »

I'm thinking about adding a couple more flush mounts on the yak. I'm personally not a big fan of the Scotty rod holders and just wondering if anyone used their flush mounts up front instead? I was thinking about it and I can not once remember seeing anyone btb with a rod in a forward flush mount. I've also considered just adding a pair of Ram rod holders instead, as they look like they would keep your reel up higher incase a swelll decided to come over the side.

I normally fish my rods out of the forward flush mounts, and store them the the back ones.

The FishnDive flush mounts must be better positioned than on my X-Factor.
I only use one of my flush mounts to hold the transducer of my fishfinder. My flush mounts are too close to the water for me to utilize them......in fact, I have one plugged with a styrofoam golf ball.

I use a scotty rod holder mounted on my console in the cockpit to hold my rod.

I'm not a BTB fisherman, but I installed flushmounts in my Navigator for freshwater driftfishing since I drift so that my baits trail the bow (as the BTB fisherman do, although they are anchored). The flushmounts provide a good spread for the baits, and keep the tackle servicing area free for baiting up, rerigging, dehooking, etc. They are also foolproof.

I absolutely love the front flush mounts. I only put one up there...don't really know why, but it works great and use it all the time.

Ditto that - every yak that's had 'em, I've used 'em.
