NEWBY YAKER

Post by preacher »

WOW! Is an understatement for BTB in a yak. Been fishing the Texas coast for a long time but I guess I never did it right until now. Been in the bay 5 - 6 times over the past few months and this week started taking the bait out about 150 yards for my wife ( who may soon be a yaker) and she pulled a double ( 1- 35 1/2 inches, 1- 38 inches) while I try a little BTB. Had to paddle in and help her out and wham, I picked up a 38 incher. 5 total for the day, smallest 35 inches. Not bad for an old grandma and grandpa.

Got lots of runs with no hook up, and 4 big uglies to 20 inches. We were fishing past the slabs at HI at the end of the wire. Lots of bait fish and shrimp in the surf, LOTS!

Hope to meet some of you Saturday.

BTW, my oldest son is buying his first yak and will be joining me soon.

Lord bless ya!

I try to make people believe I am the fisherman in the family

<a href="http://i229.photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee56 ... 7_1755.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

But, she always shows me up.

<a href="http://i229.photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee56 ... 7_1748.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

And then you take your turn trying to make me look bad.

But I do a better job than anybody else (in showning how wonder a fisherman I am).

So, there is my kind of fish out there! I've almost become fond of catching the things.

Great pictures. Nothing better than bringing in big fish.
