1st kings of the season, and from my Yak

Post by rsieminski »

I hooked 5 tonight, boated 3, and harvested that 1 in the picture.
All caught on a silver bomber, and crock spoons with 38# trace, with 15lb braid or 12lb mono.
Maybe it's not too early for Kings here:

rsieminski - congrats! great catch and thanks for sharing.

I've got a Q for ya: were you using the shallow running bomber? if so, do you recall the length? Was it the the jointed body or the long body?

Lastly, w.r.t the kroc, were you using the 1.0, 1.5 or 2 oz?

Danke!

Yes, it's Florida, Sarasota to be exact(as I hang my head low). It was a badly beaten, cuda chewed, silver Bomber long A(not the broken back one), and a 2 oz silver Kroc. What a great feeling/sound when it screams off 50-100yds of line. I'm going to try again tonight. I have caught more fish BTB in the Yak than I have out of my 24' ....what do you call them....stink-something.
