2 NM light
2 NM light
I am looking forward to doing some off-shore fishing this summer. Should I have the 2 NM light for early morning starts?

To be legal, yes, it is required, up to 30 minutes after sunrise.
I do not like being in the surf when it is dark, hard to see what is happening around you. I have only ran baits out after dark and going out, no real problems, cause you are facing the waving coming at you. But coming in, you can't see the waves very easy, so hard to plan as the wave lifts your boat. Get caught on a wave that is ready to curl on you and you could be bouncing off the bottom....without a boat!
