Jacks and Kings (Uppercoast)

Post by Crazy Yak »

If any of you guys want to target Jacks and Kings fairly close to shore they are out in full force now. We were catching Jacks just past the surf out to 40ft of water, the Kings were on the further end of that range which is about 3 miles out. Due to the unstable atmosphere this weekend our group decided to stay closer to shore, some of the boaters had to deal with some serious storms pushing offshore. Anyways, I believe I had 4 Jacks and 3 Kings within a couple of hours fishing, lost 2 to break offs then added some wire leader. This area is within paddle range so I'm passing along the report to you guys. You can launch near SLP either side and hit this area, the bite was better on the outgoing tide. Be careful with the currents, make sure you understand which way the tide is pushing you.
