If you could only have one rod and reel for btb what would it be?

Does anyone have a do everything rod and reel outfit or something close? I'm curious to hear from you all what it is. Mine would be probably my Daiwa BG 4000 on my 7' mh shimano teramar. If I could only have one that would be it.

I like spinning outfits so I'd go with a Penn Spinfisher 5500 on an ugly stik - either a Bigwater or Tiger but the GX2 is good as well. I've dropped the spinfishers in the salt before and didn't have a drop get into it. I heard as long as you don't turn the handle they can be totally submerged. Also - the Ugly Stiks are tough as nails. I'm hard on rods (mostly line guides) and they're the only ones I can't seem to break.

Penn SS 5500 or similar size reel. Just be sure to find an older US made model. These are battleships in salt water, ie less prone to corrosion and breaking down.
A 4500 size will work if you use braid.

For a conventional setup I don't think you can beat the Seigler SGN on a 7' composite rod. The reel is ridiculously small but has the ability to stop just about anything that you want to pull up beside the kayak.

X2 with Glenn on the conventional reel.
For the spinning reel setup, the PENN Slammer III 6000 and a 7’ tiger rod is the way to go.

I also have a gx2 it's a 6'6 mh spinning that goes nicely with my bg4000. It would be a gr8 one and done go to war rig. Its light but could horse in a 7' shark
