Btb launch sites without surf
Btb launch sites without surf
I'm looking for calmer waters for a launch site for my grandson and I. We live in the Austin area and will be traveling down to the beaches in March. We'll probably stop and do some wht bass fishing on our way dwn

The only likely fish that time of year will be jacks and snapper. The others will still be South in warmer water.
The two protected BTB launch sites in the Corpus area are Packery Channel and Port Aransas harbor. Both require running through the jetties which can be dangerous, and if Packery is still shallow at the ends it might not be any better than running the surf. Your safest bet is to hope for good surf conditions and have a backup plan but remember that March is a windy time of year.

Yeah when’s surfs rough I typically paddle up through Port A. It can get sketchy with the barges, and the tide can make the end a bit bumpy too.
