Red Tide?

Post by joliver »

I was looking at this next weekend for some rig hopping, but forecasted thunderstorms and now this, are creating questions. What are the conditions like down there, right now, in terms of "Red Tide"? Surf? Offshore/Rigs? Thanks for your updates.

I got back to Rockport from 7 months in Alabama last sunday at noon. The ONLY fishing I have been able to do was from the wooden pier at the Rockport Beach. It has been too rough and windy for me to do any other fishing. The catch was one 10 inch red, one Spanish Mackerel and one Ladyfish. So there are fish available in the rough water but goodness gracious it is a chore to fish for them. However I will be back out there in the morning weather allowing. No red tide in the area as far as I have found.
