Nice one
Wow, my blue lure no longer has any paint but the fish don't seem to mind. Even the old and smart ones like the naked lure look.

57.5 and really thick
Re: Nice one
Very nice!
Re: Nice one
Nice one prof. I've been fairly agnostic about color. I kind of think it is fourth behind size, depth and speed. Actually I'd say fifth. If I fish the same four in the same location I'd still get out fished, at least according to my no 2 son.
Re: Nice one
What a king! I am aching to get down there! I have 6 days off in a row starting this tue but magicseaweed doesn't look promising:(

Re: Nice one
Way to go Glenn! Nice king! You are always so happy when you are fishing and it shows in your pictures and videos. Even the days when you went out when you were feeling sick you still looked happy to be on the water.
Well done and stay happy!!

Re: Nice one
They seem to be fond of the "naked and lacking paint" color scheme.

Fish Finder, it's a Halco Max 110. It began painted in "baitfish" pattern but it's got no paint left. The fish bite it better without paint for some reason. I keep using it and it just keeps getting abused and bringing more fish to the kayak.

live bait don't have any paint left either, after a trip through a king's mouth
Re: Nice one
Hey Professor - when you head down PINS how / what do you use to keep the sand fleas from biting (while camping). I tried deep woods off, but it was like putting frosting on a cake - they just tore me up! - Is there something different to keep the fleas from bitting?

Re: Nice one
I've never had a sand flea bite me. We did have some biting flies, and those buggers were a nuisance! Sleeping in the truck with the windows open also proved interesting. When the wind died at 12:45 the mosquitos began sucking vast quantities of blood out of my feet and legs. Three days later I still have red dots all over my feet.

100% DEET and cigars solve biting bugsProf. Salt wrote:I've never had a sand flea bite me. We did have some biting flies, and those buggers were a nuisance! Re: Nice one
I use a tent cot and baby powder. The tent cot packs easy and the baby powder gets rid of the sand. Can't sleep with sand . Got that tip from Billy Sandifer.
Glen, was nice seeing you Saturday.

Tombo, can you clarify this one a bit? I never heard about baby powder as solution against sand.Tombo wrote:I use a tent cot and baby powder. The tent cot packs easy and the baby powder gets rid of the sand.

It helps to get all those pesky small grains of sand off your skin.

Haha, We're getting into rare territory now Tom. I'd love a second shot at the one that chewed through the wire last year. It was MUCH larger, believe it or not.
