This one will do!

Post by Prof. Salt »

All morning I watched as others capitalized on the beautiful day, catching fish and posting on FB. When the college closed I hustled home and loaded the kayak. I got three hours of paddling in and landed three kings including this one. At 43 lbs and just over 57 inches it's the largest king I've ever landed in a kayak. Fun stuff!

Congrats on the PB Glenn!!! Glad you got out in the break in the wind.
Are they down south more on PINS or out of Corpus?

Thanks! I had to work yesterday and only had a few hours after work. This was off MustangIsland near Corpus.

By the way, the giant I lost under the kayak last year (in the same vicinity) was much larger than this one. It was a TRUE fish of a lifetime. I will be looking for a rematch if she will just pick up the gauntlet. :D

This one had such a thick tail I couldn't hold it that way. The only option was a gaff. ON the bright side, eleven pounds of liquid mercury squirted out the gaff hole so the fish is safe to eat now. :D

OMG, that is a monster and landed 3 kings for less than 3 hrs. That is a record.
CONGRATULATION, Glenn

Ps: I start packing now....:)
