CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - A fire broke out around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at an offshore rig about three and a half miles off the Padre Island coast from Bob Hall Pier, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Coast Guard crews from Port Aransas are responding to the scene.

It was the standpipe closer to 1.5 miles off BHP. It was smoking for a while with a small fire up high on the structure. The news didn't mention it again, so I assume all is well again.
