Good Luck Today

Post by JRB-USMC »

Conditions look pretty awesome in Galveston today. I hope someone is out catching some big ones... I am looking forward to pics to make me regret not taking the day off and go fishing.

Can I ask where you're finding the smacks? I'd love to grab a few when I'm down in a few weeks...

Surfside beach off Bluewater HWY. See GPS coordinates on screenshot.

Image

Head out, Hit 25' - drop Bomber Windcheater & Ribbon Fish on King Rig (w/Bucktail head) - get past 1.8 miles, troll triangle 1 mile then back to shore...you'll kill it

Image

Pull in Windcheater at ~20' as 3-4 kts trolling puts it low in the column and it could drag/snag

Pull in Bucktail based on sink of overall rig (fish & Bucktail lead wt)

Thanks! Last time we paddled all the way out to the rig. (Like 5-6 miles out) I rather keep it a bit closer this time!

Sometimes you can pick up some nice jacks with a gold spoon in the same area.

Yes sir! Guilty as observed.

That is the Navionics App. I recommend it, but they are very proud of it $$$.

( apologies for the tardiness of my response) Hope you find those trout!

Galveston Causeway lights produced a few keepers last night...
