Learning to beach and launch

Post by rattlesnake68 »

I'm setting in my cabin in Oklahoma with single digits outside, so I thought. What the heck, I'll put together a YouTube video. For the Hall Monitors wearing their safety jackets, keep it to yourself. We were playing and swimming in the surf and I know the Hall monitors on this site swim in the surf with life jackets, VHF radios, and Satellite safety beckons on, but I don't. So enjoy it for what it is, if it will play.

Cool video. Nice work.

I haven't tried to "surf" one in yet.
I always come in backasskards in my PA14. If I find some waves that aren't too high I may try. I don't want to loose any gear but most of all not look like I don't know what I'm doing...hehe

If I've got gear, I don't surf in anymore on anything higher than the knees. I've turtled enough times to win some cash on Americas Funniest Home Videos. That was more for my daughter to get the feel for how the breakers treat a kayak. She found out real quick how fast things can go south. That trip I practiced over and over on how to beach backwards, just my girls didn't take any video of it. if the breakers are higher than the knees I always back in, even in my Hobie TI.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. As I get more familiar with the editing, they should get better. I'm more of a wood worker and not too familiar with computers.
