Favorite food on the water
I am curious about what you like to eat while out on the water. I usually do not eat much - I generally have some payday bars - a habit from when my Dad and I would hike the Sierra Nevada in California fly fishing along the way. They are salty and sweet and chewy and work for me. I have other items at times like apples and pb&j. But I am looking for something else - just do not know what yet. I do not want to eat a lot but I feel something else would be good.

I like trail mix. It's a good blend for energy and usually comes in a convenient package.

I like never eat anything while I am fishing.............I am too intent on catching.
I take peanut butter crackers and some trail mix, but it is wasted space. I lost fro 5-10 lbs ever day I fish.............unfortunately, I gain it all back between trips.
i do drink a lot of gatorade and water.

Beef jerky, salted peanuts, roasted almonds, honey buns... Seems it all taste better with a little fish slime on my hands!! Lol
Re: Favorite food on the water
My go to foods are snickers or cliff bars. They both seem to take up little space, are easy to eat, and do a good job of knocking down the hunger.

Pineapple spears from fresh pineapple served cold. Thank me later.

Ditto on the Cliff bars. Keep one handy in the pocket of my life jacket. Also like cold apple slices and fresh cheeries. Cold tangerine wedges are also refreshing. Keep the fruit in ziplocks inside cooler.

Those cheap yellow cheese crackers and Whataburger breakfast tacos. We've switched from sodas to Gatorade over the years. No beer.
It's a family tradition for fishing trips.

Lunchables or cheaper knockoffs are nice and watertight. Cliff bars are the bomb as well.

Thanks for all the input - there is definitely some stuff here that I will try out. Also agree on the liquids - I have been going through lots of water and gatorade since this heat kicked in.

Beef jerky and granola bars. Quick and easy to gnaw on while paddling.

Cold fried chicken. Fresh fruit is awesome right out of the cooler. Those pre packaged tangerines in the little bowls are great, pineapple, grapes , cantaloupe, strawberries

MRE's are awesome if you can come by them. I like to take a break and get a good meal into me. It that is not available I take a can of chunky soup - good protein and fills me up. Also take bars and an orange.....then there are the oreos......I like me some food on the water!!
Re: Favorite food on the water
I don't like to eat much while out on the water for fear no bathroom . I wish I could drink coffee at 5am as well to get a quick boost but give it about 30 mins and it'll go right through me.
