Just came off water last weekend. Mrs Bexars has the X-Factor. The middle pvc on the 160i, holds an Energizer 360 lamp. I stay close to the X, it has the beer. :D

3 rod holders at BPS for $11.99....very sturdy

Post by My Fishing Buddy »

Hey Gang,

I just left Bass Pro and they have 3-rod holders that are a perfect fit for milk crates. They are $11.99 a piece.

I have one that I have from Academy and I used bungies to afix it to my crate; however, with the heat the tightness the rod holder and create are distored/deformed/warped. With the one I got from BPS just now I can use screws to afix them to the create. The ones from Academy are a tad bit too long to screw them to the create. In other words, the screw holes are not in the right place on the Academy. I would post pictures but I need to pack up and fish tonight. Headed to Texas City Dike for some trout hopefully.

Tight lines........

Depending on which brand any where from about $150 to $250, that one in the picture would be around $300 though since it is an Accent Helium.

The addiction started with the Pelican Castaway. Sold it a few years ago…

Here is my ole’ trusty Prowler 13. I just added a Manta Ray 12 to the collection (thanks Chris!), but have not had the chance to get any pics of it yet. I need to put a few more scratches on it and catch a few more fish out of it before I post any pics… I should be able to do that over the next few weeks (fingers crossed).

Justin,
Nice Dakota. I just bought an '02 SXT. Looks a lot like yours. How far back does the Prowler 13 hang past the tail gate? I am planning on building a trailer, but gotta use the bed for now...... Have you tried on top of the tail gate and the cab to shorten the overhang?

Thanks!!

Hey there, Bob. Thanks for the compliment on my truck. Mine is actually a 03 RT (The stickers are taken off the sides). She has a nice 5.9L tucked under the hood. Perfect truck for those trips to the coast when you sleep in a little too long…

I usually just slide my yak in the bed with the tailgate down and tie it down really good. I hang a red flag from the rear and am good to go. It does get a little hairy when I haul two yaks because the bed isn’t quite wide enough for them to lay flat. I have hauled my Prowler and my buddies Manta Ray 14 quite a few times though.

I would like to get some racks but I don’t really care for the way they look and they would probably get in the way when I am not hauling yaks. I might pick some up at some point, but haven’t really made up my mind yet.

I inserted a few more pics of my truck. You don’t see many of them around anymore, as 03 was the last year they were made.

Malibu Kayaks, X-Factor 600# payload...It's a good thing:

I need to figure out something with that paddle holder. It really attaches the paddle in an awkward fashion. Maybe some clips, but I don't want something that'll take my hide off when I turtle. Any suggestions?
