Rear Anchor Trolley

Post by Dux20 »

This was my first attempt at rigging an anchor trolley. Just wanted to share with everyone.

All I used was some braided cord, a short piece of bungee, 2 stainless steel carabiners, a stainless quick link and some shrink wrap tubing (for cosmetics). I used the existing deck hardware to route the cord, so I didn't have to drill any new holes.

I only did it half way up the boat because I figured I would mainly be anchoring with the wind at my back. It also went far enough forward to allow me anchor side ways.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Not bad for the first attempt, I like to use padeyes to run the line through and I find this helps the line from slipping in higher winds. I also only use one clip to hold the ends of the lines together. I will try to post some of the outfitting we do here at the shop to give you a few examples and maybe some new ideas for the next one.

What are some benefits of the trolley system besides being able to move the anchor around from a seating position?
