if you tie to a handle, you swing around to only face one way, a pully system lets you position the boat whatever way you want to anchor. say if you drop anchor and end up facing down a bank you want to cast to, then rather than try and untie the anchor and retie it, you just adjust it with the pully system. if you have a system running from fron to back, you can position your yak any way you want with just one hand.

You can certainly tie the anchor line to the yak handle. The "problem" is that you will be sideways to the wind. If you tie off the bow, the you will face into the wind. tie off the stern and the wind is at you back. With a trolley system, you can adjust the position of your yak to suit your preference. Water currents act just like wind and will position your yak.

A trolley will also let you use a drift sock and adjust the drift angle.

So, no need for a trolley unless you want to adjust the anchor position.
