Battery Location for Jackson Cuda 12

Post by Gibby »

Putting a trolling motor on my Cuda 12 and want to put the battery inside in the bow. Plan on installing by going through center hatch and pushing battery to the bow. Looks like a "U1" size battery will fit with no problem but would like to use an 'NF-22" size but afraid it might be a hair to big. Anyone have experience putting a battery in the bow? Would love to hear from you.

I put a 7ah (in a box) in the bow of my Pelican Icon 100X, back when. I had to move it to stop water from coming over the bow.
Even with the extra weight of the TM out back, I think you will be happier with the weight closer to the center of the kayak. I think you'll get better performance, too.

Kirk,
Thanks!!! My reason for putting battery in bow 'was' to balance out the weight of the trolling motor mounted on the stern. Shows my perfect logic wasn't so perfect. Thanks again, you saved me from learning the hard way!
