Love my yak, but hate the seat! The seat is low and does not have scupper holes to drain the water. If fills up and makes for a soggy ride. Its also very uncomfortable.
Have any of you added a new lawn chair type seat to the older rides?

Re: Custom High Seat for Older Ride 135?
didn't know it didn't have scupper holes.
My Tarpon had plugged scupper holes under the seat, and I took the plugs out.
But I still keep a sponge in my boat for bailing water.

The 2007-2011 Ride 135 had scuppers located above and in between the seat pan and the back support. The first production run the scuppers were open which (due to the hull design) caused water to geyser up the scupper and flood the seat pan. Later production models they didn't remove the plastic essentially capping the scupper to prevent this.
Big D, if your kayak has the scuppers open you van plug them for a drier ride. If not you can try to add a stadium seat or upgrade the seat to one from Surf to Summit. They have a couple options which may work depending on budget and also a seat specifically designed for the Ocean Kayak Drifter which offers the most elevated seat bottom.
