Rooftop (car) kayak transport

Post by fishsaint78 »

Hello all, I'm looking into transport ideas for my Vibe seaghost. I have a setup for my Subaru Forrester, but Im wanting to throw this bad boy on my Nissan Altima to go fishing when my wifes got the Sub. I'm looking to do this without any permanent rack install, just something I can clamp or strap down and go. Lets see what ya got!

Windows down, foam on roof, ratchet straps over kayak and threw windows.

Wouldn't do that for a highway trip though.

Safe for the highway if you add bow and stern straps. Check out hood straps that you can anchor to the car's body.

Look up the Malone HandiRack. I've transported a Tarpon on top of my VW with the rack before. I had no issues with it. Caveat.. Don't drive mach 1 to the launch. Drive like a normal person and you'll be ok.
