Power Pole
Power Pole
Howdy. I am working on a power pole install. Do you think one 10ah battery is enough juice for the power pole and my humminbird helix?

Re: Power Pole
searched the forum, and couldn't figure out what is a power pole.
Maybe an LED stern light?
But I can tell you about 10Ah - that's four cell phone charges.

now I understand - essentially a trolling motor that works to keep you stationary

I would guess the 12v 10Ah battery would keep you going for awhile also run your dash electronics, but having a spare battery stashed that you can swap out might be a good idea.

It's a spike, not a t-motor. I appreciate the replies! My 10ah battery will run the fish finder for about 2 full days of fishing. Guess we'll just have to experiment and see how long it will run both.

Re: Power Pole
Look at the AMP rating for the motor on the Power Pole. Each time you "engage" the motor that many amps will discharge for the short period of time. You can calculate the number of times you "engage" or disengage" the pole and get an estimate of how much power it would use.
It should be fine. I use a 7 AH deer feeder battery for my Helix5 and all my LED lights on my kayak and I never use more than 20% fo the battery on an all night outing.
