Just make sure to go slow so you don't leave scars all over the flats.

very inventive idea,

i was thinking you were gonna mount a wheel assembly at the back

i don't see why sit on top kayak manufactures don't include replace able pads standard,
i had a sit in side old town that had one, very nice feature

Nice mod, great way to make the kayak last a lot longer, definitely one of the 1st area's to go. Jackson Kayak just came out with the Coosa and it has a replaceable skid plate this is the 1st fishing kayak with this feature to my knowledge.

Very interesting G! I like the idea. I am envisioning all kind of future possibilities for that idea. Teflon coatings, etc. You can buy strips to apply over the V of boat hulls...why not kayaks?

When you drag a kayak it tends to lean to one side. And if you fish as much as G does you will have yours looking like that in no time.

And Ms.Addicted I mentioned the strips to him but he is a do it yourselfer to the core.

I like it G, I really do. I drag my yak all the time and I wonder about wearing through or wearing thin. I'm not sure those boat strips would adhere well enough either. I wasnt thinking "why didnt you use them" but rather more along the lines of "sounds like you have a new kayak invention".
