My trailer isn't as elaborate as the rest of the trailers on the thread but here it is. I was given a jet ski trailer and built the bed out of some scrap wood. I wanted a trailer that would double as a small utility trailer, since I don't have a truck. I am wanting to build sides for it and rod holders, but haven't got around to it yet. I am sorry that I haven't got pics of it with the yak on it. I never think about snapping a pic when it is loaded up.

The cradles are the one Hobie made for the PA. Hotwheels where did you get that don't touch my yak sticker?

I found it on EBay. The seller is "stickfigsdecals". There are several varieties.

Nice job..looks like another jet ski trailer..
Are you going to make seals around the doors?
I put a raised lip around the opening in mine.

At least a year or longer ago, someone posted their enclosed utility trailer that they had converted for carrying kayaks and camping. It had fold down bunks, AC, shelves, etc. Does anyone remember who it was or where the picture are?

yeah i put some rubber gaskets around the doors plus i got drain holes in the bottom of it. all the inside is fiberglass resin so we can wash the inside out. i like your lid with the raised lip.

There's no better way to start a weekend with all this rain, then to start tearing my trailer apart. I want to change it completely to where I have room for rod storage, cooler storage, bbq pit and carry up to four yaks if needed. It will take me some time but will take pics throughout and post up when completed.

Here is what it looks like now.

Took the roof rack bars off the truck and used them as the cross-bars on this El-Cheapo from Northern Tools. $25 for the steel to replace the tongue. The material for the sides is a sheet of styrene sandwhiched between sheets of aluminum and pressed/bonded together. They were old signs that we were throwing away at work. Can't beat free. When I'm making long trips I bolt on the rear panel for load security but around town I like to leave it off for quick access.

If you've got one of these trailers don't let anyone give you hell about those tires. They're small but I've made round trips from McKinney to Corpus, Houston, Broken Bow, Amarillo and Austin/San Antonio with this thing. Top off the bearing buddies before you hit the road each time and you'll be fine.

Finally finished my kayak trailer. Started with a Carry-on 5x8, added Yakima Outdoorsman and Mako pads. Then I built a gear box out of 3/4 plywood and added rod holders on one side to keep them up off the floor.

Used all welded Magnum jet ski trailer I payed $300 for. I just launch the Mariner directly into the water and then pull it back on when I'm done. I haven't lifted the kayak since I bought it and it stays on the trailer ready to go at a moments notice.

I was completely engaged with this trailer build last week as it was truly needed. There is only so much room in the bed of a pickup, with 4 yaks/gear and all. :D I must give credit to Spiny Norman as his 'no weld' design was the inspiration for my trailer build project. Thanks!!

As a transplanted Texan I figured I'd post my pics for y'all to see. I followed a paycheck several years ago but sure do miss the great state. Put this rack together for a friends utility trailer to carry our yaks to the forgotten coast of florida from GA.
