Mounting a Lowrance Total Scan Transducer on a Hobie PA14, seeking advice

Post by pomoxis »

Still using my 2013 PA14 , finally installing a Lowrance Elite 7 Ti , planning on using the BP 2601 transducer cover to help protect it, anyone used this cover for their transducer, it should help protect it.
Also am still considering the best mount for the finder and whether or not i will need a shaded screen cover.
Thanks,

Mount outdoors on sunny day. Use the sun to let you know if you need a screen.

I use a Scotty transducer arm over the side for my SI unit. Anything between the transducer and water may distort images. Test to make sure.

I use an HDS 9 and I've never needed a shaded screen cover. The Lowrance units are plenty bright.

on the xducer cover. as long as its getting plenty of water it should shoot thru that cover just fine but if it's getting air inside the cover somehow that's when it will have problems... i'm sure it'll be fine.
