Watch out American Rodsmiths!
Oh boy! I'm sure my Mom will see this item advertised on TV and think "my grandson would love one of those for Christmas".
WRONG!!!
What is truly incredible is Roland Martin's "endorsement" of this high-dollar idiotic contraption. It just goes to prove that a lot
of "Pros" will endorse anything that pays....
Caveat emptor!

In case you missed it, click on the link above the picture to see the idiot-device "in action" (the clip is hallarious!).
"But wait! For a limited time, this special TV offer comes with top-secret GPS coordinates for guaranteed-successful fishin' holes within 1 mile of your house; to which Jr. and friends can ride their bikes. Of course, they'll need the Rocket Rod Bike Transport System to safely transport their new super-duper fish-catching Rocket Rod - a $39 value, for only 19.95 when purchased with the Rocket Rod." PS: All sales are final.
Blast Cast
Looks like something off of Rowland and Martin "LaughIn" Only thing missing is Goldie Hawn demonstrating the Blast Cast Device.

I got in trouble with my 9 yr daughter this week. She had seen an ad for this thing on TV before Christmas. The ad was on TV again and she called me to rush in and see it. She told me she had wanted to get the thing for me for Christmas but there wasn't time. Then I opened my big mouth and told her I was glad she didn't. DUMB thing to say. Man I hurt her feelings big time. Fortunately I've said enough dumb things to know which smart things to say afterwards and helped her be a happy camper again.

Really? He seems pretty brilliant to me. 19 time BASS champ, 9 angler of the year awards, freshwater hall of fame. Fishes around the world, all expenses paid of course. His own resort in the FL keys. His own TV show(s).Gone Yakin wrote:Roland Martin is an idiot.
That being said, he does come up with some silly looking inventions. But then of course....that thing really isnt for the experienced fisherman....as EWB so effectively illustrated Obviously for the kids and those that cant cast.

Personally, I think a soda-bottle wrapped with discarded mono would work better - and a heck of a lot cheaper. Buuuuut, that's a whole nuther thread...
As for dear old Roland: He's not an idiot.
"Wealthy/Socialite/Profit-Motivated Professional Promoter of questionable gadgets" maybe;..... but definitely not an idiot.
His classic fish-on response: Son!!!!!!!! .

I was thinking the same thing. My boys(4N1) love guns etc. and would have a ball just shooting this thing. It is not for fisher"men" but for kids who just might enjoy fishing when they may not otherwise.

The guy just knows how to play the game (to his pocket $$$ and lol to his bank).

I actually saw a kid with one of these at my son's cub campout. He had had it like two weeks, had probably fished with it once, and it was ruined, not because he was beating it to death or anything, just because it's junk.
He was looking pretty downcast trying to mess with the thing, so I let him use my rod and he and my son caught a bunch of (tiny) whiting.
You want to have a kid look at you like you're god's gift to the planet, help 'em fish when they really wish they could and can't. It made my weekend.

It is out.
Now you know what Slowride and Let's go use to win all those tournament.
I hear that CutRate and Wilderness are trying to buy the prototype as we speak. I can see it now in the Wilderness tri color blend.
