Fishing Goose Island

Post by Flyfisher »

This is an excerpt from my new book that should be out the end of December or the first week or two of January. It is a big file.

Hello Sonny, I'm writing the book on the Coastal Bend, and it covers the area from Aransas NWR to Corpus. The book is finished, but I'm going through the rewriting using corrections from the proof reader. I hope to have it at the printer in two weeks and then it is out of my hands as to when it is published. I hope to have it in stores anytime from Christmas to the middle of January.

You can download aerial photos of the area now at my website:

Thanks for asking.

Knew you were running short on the Galveston books and tied up with the new midcoast book.

We have had a lot of Neubies that need a copy.

How many of the Galveston Area books are left?

Looks as detailed (or more so) as usual. I still use my Galveston bay book and in fact will be consulting it today in preparations for a trip to ANWR this week!

I'm negotiating that now with the printer and it depends on the amount of color in the book, plus taking into account the costs in researching the book. LOL Don't laugh, I said research: 17-22 trips/year to Corpus area, 600-1000 miles per trip (not much time for fishing), motel expenses, & food. Right now I'm looking at a price of $24.95.

Right now I have around 320 site photos, satellite images, and maps in the book, compared to 153 in my Galveston book.

Ray, more color with higher price. Don't think any of us are going to let a couple of dollars stand between us and your research.

My head has been in the sand for a long time and I haven't see the book that Scott wrote but he is a great writer and I'm sure that there is a wealth of info in his book.

Dead end link? What problems are you having? Try:

The printer and I are sending it back and forth (figuratively) but I think I finally have it in a form where everything is compatible with the printer. I will put it into one day mail tomorrow and then it should be about 4 weeks.

I have been waiting for this book for a while. I am hoping it will help me find more fishable water when the winds blow like they do down here.

Any idea on a date when it will hit the retailers on your list?

Confirmed printing date is MARCH 23, 2007. I should get delivery before the end of March, so the book should be in the retail outlets listed on my website no later than April 7th or 8th.
