Family Friendly Kayak Fishing Spots Near Houston

Post by lahai1dj »

Any suggestions on good spots to go with kids? Calm waters, easy shore launch, bathrooms nearby, few to no alligators, etc... Thanks for your input!

If it doesn't have to be salt you should try Lake Woodlands.

Baytown Nature Center - costs a few bucks to get in, but it's a very pretty spot not far from Houston, salt water, and a very easy in and out for kayakers. They are doing a kayak class this Saturday - would be a great time to get the lay of the land.

i agree with this post and also fished at ponderosa marina recently....also lake houston marina is right across the street (1960) from cedars landing which is a decent lakefront restaurant with beautiful views
