Jig Line

Post by bentron »

What line do y'all use when fishing a jig, I'm trying to have a dedicated jig set up and want to get the best line for the job (I've been using P-Line Floroclear on everything). Thanks for any help in advance!

I use 20# Windtamer braid for everything. Most times a mono leader for abrasion resistance.

What length leader do you usually like to use?

24"-30" or about that much as I stretch my arm out when the fish are biting. I have not found a leader to make any catching difference with jigs when it comes to fish catching. It sure makes a difference around abrasive things like shells, rocks and pilings.

I use 20# P-Line fluroclear for jigs unless it's a real bad area with a lot of thick stuff. In other words I us P-Line unless it's absolutely necessary.
