which fish finder to go with?

Post by Imjustziggy »

I just got a 2015 outback and I cant decide what fish finder to go with. It comes lowrance ready so I'm trying to decide should I get a lowrance? I mainly fish bays and marshes and I'd like something with gps.

Are you for sure determined to get a sonar unit? I can see, and I use a sonar unit in some areas that are over 6' deep to see bait amounts in winter and help me stay on a depth or structure edge. That's the best use in bays, but it won't really help locate fish (other than the above assistance). If you plan to fish some water over 10' then there a sonar unit can start to help put you on fish, but I'd probably use it more in 12'+ ect.

Lowrance, garmin, and 'bird are all good but finding the one that is right for your taste is more important. I like Garmin GPS probably the best but all 3 are plenty good.
