I have started to consider getting good fishing glasses and Costa del Mar comes to mind as the best for saltwater or any water fishing.

I'm unsure of what i should be getting considering the price diffrences and the lense quality.

I'm tempted to get the 580 Polycarbonate lense glasses due to their cheap price, even lower than the 400 glass lenses, but i am worried that this might be a mistake. 580 glass lenses are supposed to be the top of the line but why would they be better than their less expensive Polycarbonate lense 580?

considering price should i just go for the 400s rather than the Polycarbonate lense 580?

is their a large and noticable diffrence between the 400 and the 580 glass (besides the price tag) which would make one prefreable over the other ?

Cool beans, how do they hold up against scratches and would you say they are pretty resistant ?

You have to determine which are better suited for you...the 580(G) is the best lens Costa has to offer imo...the polycarbonates scratch waaaay to easy but if you get glass you have to make sure you dont drop them down too fast or hard bc they can break....the polys just arent scratch resistant enough for me. I fish in saltwater and I wld be afraid to dip them(polys) in the water and wipe them off bc I have heard people scratch their lens.

Another thing to consider is the color of the lens....Ive got green lenses for the bay and I absolutely love them and cldnt fish without them. They have a copper lens and are amazing...I can see fish darting in the water!

Well I hope this helps buddy...good luck!

I got the glass 400 lenses because they didnt have the style I wanted in the 580's. No regrets here.

I got the 580G also, little bit heavier and pricier than the 580P lenses, but in the salt, lenses get scratched WAY to easily, salt spray, sand, constant wind blowing dirt and debris. I have the Fathom frames and love em except for the fogging when worn with a Buff.

I have two pairs of man o wars one with 400p amber lenses and one with 580g amber lens with silver mirror and they are both great glasses but the 580g is a lot brighter view if that makes sense!
I always describe them to others by saying they make everything brighter and easier to see without making you squint!! If you have the money get the 580 but if not the 400 will be fine!! Good luck
