Well I did it.

Post by EGT Limited »

 Bought my kayak, thanks to "bacfire" I fianlly got the deal I was looking for! A well loved Malbiu Extreme now resides at my house. Going out for the first time tomorrow if the weather holds. Anybody familar w/ Tuckers Cove? It's near Priates Cove, kind of shallow and protected from the wind. I'm thinking a good place to start learning.
I wish I had a picture for you but sombody robbed the battieries from my camara. I'll get some tomorrow and regal you all with pictures of my first attempt, and the limits of fish I'm bound to catch. HAHA.

Congrats, and welcome

I bought my first this past summer, a Malibu Pro Explorer, for a lot of the reasons one would want an Extreme but demand a tad more versatility. I paddled it the first time in the low surf at Mustang Island State Park just south of Port Aransas - at 2 am under the full moon! I've since fished out of it, caught fish, and paddled in spots up and down the Texas coast. Welcome, and good luck!

That sounds like me. I live off 1960 work for myself and fish during the week when I can. After Turkey Day I am free most times until Jan.
Lets hook up and fish a weekday less traffic and I can plan work around the weather. I love it

Dress for the weather conditions. I think the temperature for Galveston for Thursday morning is forecasted for the low 40's.

My only regret about Kayaking and Kayak Fishing is that I did not start years ago! :D
