Rigging a 2006 OK Drifter for fishing

Post by Backwater Drifter »

I have an OK Drifter I would like to rig up for fishing. I usually do not take much with me at least not more then you can pack in a wade belt. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or pic on how I could rig my Drifter. I would like to rig some rod holders, milk create, GPS and maybe an anchor system. I know allot is really preference but I would like to get some ideas before I start drilling holes. Thanks

Also, look through the "album" section on the top of the screen. It is just under the home.

Had a Drifter and I would suggest not using flush mounted rod holders. The Drifter sit a little low in the water and flush mounts might get your reels wet with salt water. The tank well of the drifter doesn't accept a regular sized milk crate, but you can find Sterilite plastic boxes at Wal-mart that fit. I like to attach my rod holders to the plastic boxes in the tank well.

YOU can have flush mounted rod holders and simply get the correct size pvc and cut a long enough piece as you need to get your rods above the deck and out of waves and spray. This is what I did with the 160. Lot of the time I use the rod holder to put my anchor in when not in use.

Notice the article section and scroll down.

Heres how I had mine rigged. Good idea on using the pvc pipe in rod holders as extensions.
