Never, ever do this at the launch

Post by redneckyakclub01 »

I was just reading a post in the saltwater forum that made me recall something I too learned the hard way.

When launching or picking up at the end of the day never set things down on the ground. If you take it from your truck, put it directly in your yak. If you take it from your yak put it directly in your truck. Otherwise, if you set it down, even for a moment, there’s a good chance that you are going to forget it. At the beginning of the day it’s the excitement over the day to come. At the end, hopefully it’s the excitement about the day you had but also tired, hungry, thirsty etc.

Either way, don’t set things down. Most guys don’t set their rods down because of the sand but paddles, tackle, mirage drives etc are lost pretty often this way.
