Hi,
I just arrived from MN and staying the winter. Looking to get out with some locals who can show me the ropes.

Welcome to mild winters. No ice fishing lakes here.
Read up on where and how to fish winters here, and go get out there.
Post a report.
Without more info about if you own a kayak, when you are free, where or how you want to fish, specific questions (assuming you've read up on general coastal fishing) you might have, etc....not much we can say on your initial "new to the area" post.

Welcome to Texas. On the above tool bar the Search function can be your friend. Follow fish reports, look for invites to fishing spots, and use your imagination.
All you need at a couple launch sites.

You should provide more info about yourself if you want more help.
Do you own a kayak?
Do you have a car?
Any salt water experience?
Any gear t fish with?
What kind of fishing are you looking for?
