Securing yaks to roof rack.

Post by Whiteowl1 »

I just bought two OC predator 13 along with a Swiss Cargo folding rack. I will secure them to the rack and factory roof rack on my suburban but are the front straps over the hood and rear straps really necessary?

Yes, safety first. You can get some under-the-hood tie down straps to make it easier and more convenient.

Thanks. I think I saw the under the hood tie downs at academy the other day. The look like two small pieces of PVC connected?

Just so you believe the first answer from Tallgrass, Yes.
Tie the front for sure, and preferably the back too, in addition to the two cross straps. Trust us, in case we are ever driving behind you.

Something like this. Bolted on and always there or with the short pipe to use as needed.
