Kayak fishing the Lone Star State...

Dick's called and stated they had the units in stock, but when I got there they had a Perception Caster 12.5 with no rudder waiting.

I told them no way!!!

The manager said he would make it right and ordered a rudder kit from perception, and had it shipped to my house at no additional charge.

They are. Built like a tank.
I own one of those. (caster12.5) and it's an awesome boat.
I bought mine a few years ago and paid $850 I believe. Mine came with a rudder only.

499 for everything paddlesalot got is an awesome deal.
I wish I needed another boat but I don't

I stopped by a Dicks store in San Antonio and saw the aqua lung...they had one in stock and it did have a rudder...the length was 12 ft. and width was 30". They also had a perception for the same price of $499 without a rudder...good score on having the manager send you the rudders. I looked at the tags on the aqua lung and it was produced by voodoo tech. which is riot kayaks. I haven't found out too much info. on how the ride is.

I went ahead and bought the aqua lung yesterday and can't wait to get out on the water for a test run...I need to add a couple of things but overall it seems tobe pretty good....I just can't figure out where to put a scotty rod holder with extender....does anyone have any ideas the middle has a cupholder and right behide it theres a groove for a water bottle.

Thanks

Same 499 deal for the Aqua Lung available last week at Dick's in Tampa. I'm new to kayaks, so I wasn't sure what to think. I've been shopping for a fishing kayak for a couple months trying to determine the best kayak for as little money as possible. I figured this Aqua Lung must be of poor quality to be offered at 499 because nothing else comes close with the rudder, adjustable foot rests, storage, etc. I searched online for Aqua Lung and only found this forum. It's nice to see that others are saying it's a good one. I went in 3 times to Dick's looking at the Aqua Lung kayak. At this store, they were bright yellow in color. The store eventually sold out of them within a few days also... I was sort-of hoping for that so I could get a rain check and continue researching this kayak. Dick's tells me more are on the way. At first they didn't want to give a rain check, but in the end agreed to it. Once someone test drives one, please post reviews! Thanks!

took the perception caster fishing, it rode very well. I am 6'2" and over 250 no problem

I am planning on plugging the scupper hole to make th ride less wet.

I just wish I had bought a longer paddle !!! 230 is not long enough for a big boy.

My wife 5' 4" loves the yak and has no problem handling it.

Dicks has several of these in stock.

Oh man, do I wish I had seen this kayak last week. Just got back from my local dick's sg and I decided to check out this kayak since i had seen yall talking about it. I am a newb to all of this and looking for my first yak, but this perception looks good to me. Its just my luck though that the sale ended saturday! It is now $599. The manager said that he does not know when or if they will be running this deal again, but they do have a 30 day policy where they would refund you if it when on sale later. I decided I will just look around some more

Triggerman, please let us know what you think of the Aqua Lung after you 've taken it out. Give us the good and the bad. Much appreciated!

unfortunately the san antonio dick's group is being a bunch of d's themselves. They refuse to give out rain checks
even though they are out. They told me instead to go to the store on the other side of san antonio. So, I would reall
appreciate for anyone who owns or knows alot about the aqua lung to post their knowledge. Sorry I keep bringing
this back up.
