I'm in! I'll be fishing both the LSKS and the first GRS on the same day  This is going to be nerve wracking!

Hopefully I can get some time on the water before the event. The first event for me last year was terrible and hopefully I can start off the season with a good showing.

Looking to defend my AOY title this year.
And I wish you all the luck this year in defending your title because I flopped like a fish on shore last year trying to defend mine and by the way stay out of my fishing hole
Having recently joined smack talk anonymous and been to my first meeting I'm trying to kick the habit. After reading the post above does anyone besides me think it could be translated ? Big'un saying I wish you all the luck = Die fire ant Die . I did not defend mine well last year= you have a snowballs chance in hell of repeating ! Please don't fish my area's = Quit potlickin my hotspots !!! Just curious if anyone else read between then lines and got this subliminal message ?
Thats what i read ... i also think it said something about a marsh mud wrestling bout to determine winner of said fishing hole

Yes that is exactly what it says and no there will not be any mud wrestling, there may be some flat tires and banana's but no wrestling :)

Hold that thought. I and anyone planning to do this same thing may have to choose one or the other. Its been called to my attention that Sal's rules specifically spell out that the GRS must now be a 2 man team for the pro div (the Am can be 1 or 2). All this time I've been thinking it was going to work to fish both.

I am trying to get clarification from Sal and will post up when I know something.

Hopefully I will be wrestling with two 10 pound slot redfish.

I may do the GRS too but I have not decided yet. I always like to fish till the last minute so making two weigh-in's may not happen for me.

Hey K,

Here is the rule
"1 or 2 man teams ($300) Any combo of am or pro"

the way i read it you have to pay $300 for "team" no matter if you have a partner or not. So essentially you are your own partner by paying the $300

Paid my dues now I'm ready for the fun. Placing would be great but sharing a few drinks with you fine folks would be the icing on the cake.

Ok cool, he just changed it then. Last I knew he was conferring with the other guys running the tournament and was going to let us know. I dont have a problem paying full price, a team is a team whether one or two IMO.

Sooooo .... anyone want to take a guess at how many anglers we are going to have the first event of 2014? last year our biggest event was 87 anglers. I'm thinking we will be over 100 anglers ... my guess is 105 :monkey: .

If we have a 100 anglers the top 3 places would get.... $900 for 1st, $675 for 2nd & $450 for 3rd .... last place 25th gets $50

I am going to go with 90. I would say 100 and that is doable. However, with the tourney on Easter weekend and the GRS on the same weekend it may deter anglers from fishing. On the other hand though, hopefully the weather is halfway decent for the first tourney
