Looking for a place to rent yak/float in Central Texas

Post by gmt4013 »

I would like to find a place to rent a yak and possibly fish in Central Texas area. Any suggestions would help.

Any suggestions on where to go to take a cool short float? I am considering the San Marcos River or somewhere I can float and get picked up. What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Austin Canoe and Kayak also have a shop in San Marcos. They will be able to give the rundown on the San Marcos, Guadalupe, and Blanco rivers. Enjoy.

IMO...ACK is a little over rated. You can't go wrong talking to Roland at Lakeline Watersports. His customer service skills cannot be beat.

TG is a heck of a nice guy as well, and his rental place is right on the river. He'll tell you all about kayaks and their differences. You might try him as well.

Texas Paddlesports in San Antonio rents out kayaks. Very nice people, great to work with. I have been dealing with Stacy there since she opened this year and have no complaints.

Aransas Pass, it's not exactly Central Texas, but I can set you up with kayaks, lodging, and some great fishing. We do weekend and weekday packages. Call me if interested.

Kerrville Kayak and Canoe does alot of 3 to 4 hr paddle trips that work great for the fisherman as well. Rents singles, dbles and canoes and runs shuttles. If you have you're own kayak, we'll shuttle those as well.
